This program aims to expose learners and prospective preschool teachers to theoretical and practical knowledge in early childhood education, child development, and teaching across various early childhood education contexts.

Graduates with a certificate in early childhood education can work as preschool teachers, day-care teachers, reception class educators, classroom assistants, childcare officers, teacher’s aides, preschool coordinators, self-employed and serve as early childhood educators or practitioners in the community.

Entry Requirements

• Botswana General Certificate for Secondary Education (BGCSE), NCQF level 4, or equivalent, with a Credit in at least 3 subjects, including English Language. Or
• Certificate III, NCQF level 3, with two years’ work experience in teaching in pre-schools, will be admissible to the qualification through RPL.
