Certificate in Social Work is designed to provide students with a solid introduction to the principles, values, and practices of the social work profession. Additionally, it helps students to develop the foundational skills needed to support individuals, families, and communities experiencing social, emotional, and economic challenges.

 

Graduates in Social Work can work as auxiliary or para-professional social workers, counsellors, welfare officers, mental health workers, community facilitators, correction officers, administrators, and special needs instructors.

Entry Requirement

  • Botswana General Certificate for Secondary Education (BGCSE), NCQF level 4, or equivalent qualification. Or
  • Certificate III, NCQF level 3, with two years’ work experience in social work or related areas, will be considered for the qualification through RPL.
